The Cliffs of Moher The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience allows you to visit one of nature’s great wonders – spectacular sea cliffs that face westwards into the wild and spectacular Atlantic Ocean. Home to over 30,000 pairs of nesting seabirds, these layers of rock layers visible in the cliff face were formed over 300 million years ago. The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's most popular visitor destinations. The cliffs are over 200m high and range for 8 kilometers along County Clare's Atlantic seaboard. O'Brien's Tower stands proudly on a headland of the majestic Cliffs. From the cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, and the mountains of Connemara to the north, and Loop Head to the south. Rangers provide free guided tours (off peak) and offer information on the geology, botany, birdlife, local history & culture.
